Partner Spotlight: HAT
Why Modern Distribution Means Wearing More Than One HAT
Technology has changed – and so has the role of distribution.
As networking, cybersecurity and IT operations continue to converge, partners need more than access to leading technologies. They need a distributor that can help them navigate complexity, build capability and confidently take new solutions to market.
At HAT, we've built our business around a simple philosophy: distribution isn't about facilitating transactions – it's about understanding what both vendors and partners need to succeed, then stepping into whatever role is required to help make that happen.
The name HAT reflects the way we operate. Every day, we wear the hats of both our vendors and our partners, adapting our role to suit whatever is needed at the time. Sometimes that means extending a vendor's local channel presence. Other times, it's working alongside partners to help them win business, deliver solutions and build capability. Our role changes depending on what's needed – but our focus remains the same: creating successful outcomes for both sides of the channel.
We're a specialist value-added distributor serving MSPs, resellers and systems integrators across Australia and New Zealand. Rather than building the largest vendor catalogue, we've deliberately curated a portfolio of complementary, cloud-delivered networking, cybersecurity and IT operations technologies shaped by what we see and hear every day from partners and customers across the channel. It's a portfolio built not around breadth, but around helping partners respond to the way technology – and customer expectations – are evolving.
Our portfolio brings together technologies from industry-leading vendors including Paessler PRTG, NinjaOne, Cato Networks and Tufin, spanning secure networking, cybersecurity, endpoint management, infrastructure monitoring and operational resilience.
Our approach is underpinned by a strong commitment to enablement. We work closely with our vendors and partners to provide technical workshops, sales enablement, proof-of-concept support, certifications, go-to-market planning and ongoing channel development. Our objective isn't simply to bring leading technologies to market – it's to equip partners with the confidence, capability and commercial support to build successful businesses around them.
One example of that in practice is our work with one of Australia's largest resellers. We helped the team expand its expertise in AI-powered cybersecurity and secure networking, giving them the confidence to bring a new AI-native SASE solution to market. Together, we supported the delivery of a cloud-delivered platform that unified networking and security, helping the customer strengthen cyber resilience while simplifying security operations.
Technology will continue to evolve, but so too will the expectations placed on distributors. Bringing great technologies to market will always be fundamental, but success won't be defined solely by the technologies we represent. It will be defined by how effectively we help vendors and partners succeed with them.
