Data centre co-location provider Digital Realty has promoted its Australian head of sales engineering, Damien Spillane, to director of sales engineering for Asia-Pacific.

It is part of a move to bolster business throughout the region.

Spillane will now oversee head up the sales engineering team on APAC and oversee project implementations for customers across the region, especially in Australia, Hong Kong and Japan.

Bernard Geoghegan, managing director, EMEA and APAC at Digital Realty, said: "Damien has been a significant asset to Digital Realty in Australia.

"With his wealth of experience and knowledge, we are confident that Damien will further develop our Asia Pacific platform and deliver great results for our customers."

Digital Realty runs an 86,000 sq ft data centre in Sydney and a 96,000 sq ft facility Melbourne, as well as sites in Singapore and Hong Kong, among dozens around the world.
