Taiwan-based big screen and projector vendor Optoma has appointed World Best Technology (WBT) as its newest Australian distributor.

The deal will expand Optoma’s presence in Australia through WBT’s operations in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth.

“The partnership will allow Optoma to expand nationally through WBT’s sales channels and full service provided across Australia, while leveraging its strong relationships and technical capabilities focusing on big screen industry,” Optoma APAC general manager Gordon Wu said.

WBT director Gerard Maggs said the new partnership will strengthen Optoma’s market position in Australia, and would “provide new opportunities to grow.”

“Optoma’s product capacity is world-class and we look forward to working closely with the local team to deliver ongoing value to our customers, particularly full product lines that require easier set-up for upgrades and new builds,” Maggs said.

WBT operates warehouses in Sydney and Melbourne and recently opened a logistics centre in Perth. The distributor is a Samsung partner, specialising in audio-visual, signage and IT integration.
