Datadog has hired Yadi Narayana as its field CTO for Asia Pacific Japan (APJ), a newly created role for the company.

In this role, Narayana will leverage his more than 20 years of global experience in business development, product development and solutions engineering to advise on and deliver tailored solutions for midmarket organisations and enterprises.

Working closely with Datadog’s sales and engineering teams, Narayana will identify opportunities and offer best practices to help customers and prospects apply their use of observability across cloud migration, cybersecurity and AI projects.

Speaking to CRN Australia, Narayana said the close and continuous collaboration with Datadog’s APJ partners is an important part of his role.

“Something I'll do alongside our Channels and Alliances teams - both to help our partners optimise how they take our platform to market, and to ensure customers get the most value they can from the Datadog platform,” he said.

“This will include, for example, further improving technical alignment, developing and refining joint solutions, and strengthening go-to-market alignment.”

For the first 12 months of his tenure, Narayana wants to help Datadog customers unlock the full value of observability.

“Not as a set of disconnected tools, but as a strategic enabler of resilience, innovation, and speed within a unified platform,” he said.

Narayana rejoins Datadog, having previously led the company’s post-sales business in APJ for over three years.

He has also held senior positions at companies including LaunchDarkly and AppDynamics, and has experience with telecommunications service providers in Asia and Europe.

Narayana is based in Sydney and reports to Eugene Kovnatsky, VP of product solutions architecture and field CTO teams at Datadog.

Narayana said partners are critical to Datadog’s success.

“They are the on-the-ground experts and help us reach more customers across the diverse APJ region so we can deliver better outcomes together, and scale impact faster,” he said.

“They play a crucial role in helping customers execute on transformation initiatives, adopt best practices, and realise value from platform investments.”

Narayana’s appointment is another move for Datadog in its APJ expansion, and follows the recent announcement of the company’s soon-to-be-opened data centre instance in Sydney, Australia.
