Cloud-based security systems integrator Digital61 has expanded its cybersecurity portfolio in a move to make security simpler and more accessible.

The systems integrator has launched secure cloud gateway (Modern SIG) and continuous assurance services for its customers.

Sunny Bhatia, chief information and digital officer at Digital61 said, “Many organisations are struggling with fragmented security tools and compliance processes.

“We’ve focused on delivering integrated, outcome-driven services that combine protection, visibility, and compliance into a single framework.”

Bhatia told CRN Australia that agencies and businesses alike are facing increased compliance pressure, skills shortages, and growing complexity from hybrid cloud environments.

“These new services — Secure Cloud Gateway and Continuous Assurance — directly address those pain points by providing secure cloud connectivity and automated compliance monitoring, both aligned to Australian frameworks like ISM, PSPF, and IRAP,” he said.

Digital61’s Secure Cloud Gateway (Modern SIG) provides a scalable, cloud-first solution that safeguards internet traffic, defends against evolving cyber threats, and optimises secure access to modern applications.

The company’s new continuous assurance service addresses a growing challenge for both government agencies and enterprises: maintaining compliance in an environment of constant change.

Traditional point-in-time audits leave organisations exposed to blind spots between assessments.

Continuous assurance delivers ongoing monitoring and evidence validation against frameworks such as the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF), the Information Security Manual (ISM), and the Essential Eight, ensuring organisations remain audit-ready year-round.

When it comes to government agencies having cyber resilience in 2025, Bhatia says they’re seeing real progress but also a “widening gap” between agencies that have modernised and those still operating legacy systems.

“The key challenge remains sustaining cyber resilience — not just achieving compliance once, but maintaining it continuously amid evolving threats and policy changes,” he said.

Bhatia said Digital61 continues to invest in sovereign, IRAP-assessed capabilities and partnerships that strengthen Australia’s cyber posture.

“These new services reflect our commitment to helping customers modernise securely, with agility and confidence,” he ended.

With more than 100 staff across Australia Digital61 delivers managed services, advanced networking, cybersecurity, and compliance solutions trusted by agencies and enterprises alike.
