After announcing David Dicker’s decision to step down as the CEO in May this year, new reports from Dicker himself suggest he was booted by the company’s board.

According to a new report from The Australian, Dicker said his ex-wife Fiona Brown and the board suspended him due to bullying allegations which he refuted.

These allegations arose due to Dicker implementing executive changes, CRN Australia understands. These claims were reportedly made by Vlad Mitnovetski, chief operating officer at Dicker Data.

After Dicker left the company, Brown, who co-founded the company with her ex-husband, stepped up as executive chair.

Dicker told the publication there was an emergency board meeting in late April and consequently from that he was blocked from his company email account and had financial accounts frozen.

CRN Australia reached out to Dicker Data who have refused to comment on the matter.

On September 3, in an ASX filing, Dicker sold his remaining shares coming in at $250 million, ceasing of being a substantial shareholder.

Dicker spent 47 years at the helm of the distribution giant, the company was the first Toshiba and Compaq distributor in Australia. In 2011, the company listed on the ASX and acquired Express Data Holdings in 2014.

At the time of his departure, Dicker said in an ASX statement, “Co-founding and leading Dicker Data has been an extraordinary journey, and I am incredibly proud of what we’ve built together.

“As I embark on new ventures, I have full confidence that the leadership team that we put together some years ago will continue to drive the company forward with the same passion and dedication.”

He continues, “It is actually business as usual with this leadership team who’ve been a strong executive unit for many years, continuing to ensure our success."

Dicker is reportedly living in New Zealand focusing on his automotive business, Rodin Cars.

CRN Australia will update this story as it unfolds. The publication has reached out to David Dicker for further comment.
