A new month brings new executive appointments. In July, there have been new hires from partners such as Interactive, Scyne, and Fuse Technology.

Plus, a new APJ hire for Cohesity, and a new Equinix MD.

Equinix hires Jarrod Nink as new Aussie MD

Data centre giant Equinix has hired Jarrod Nink as its new Australian managing director.

He will lead Equinix’s Australian business, overseeing strategy, customer growth and operations across one of the world’s fastest-growing digital infrastructure markets.

He will report to Cyrus Adaggra, president, Asia Pacific, Equinix.

He was previously Interim chief executive, enterprise, government, wholesale and infrastructure at Vocus Group.

In a statement, he said, “I look forward to working with our talented team and valuable partners to build on Equinix’s strong market position and help organisations unlock new opportunities in this next era of AI."

Interactive appoints new MD for cybersecurity

Aussie MSP interactive has hired Anneliese McDowell as managing director for cybersecurity.

This also includes the Slipstream Cyber business. She was previously the executive director, strategy and consulting at CybreCX.

In her new role, McDowell will be responsible for delivering a suite of cybersecurity services including active defence, digital forensics and incident response (DFIR), cyber advisory services and a sovereign 24x7 Security Operations Centre (SOC) delivered from Australia.

In a statement she said, “What attracted me to the business is its strong technical capability, customer-first culture and commitment to delivering sovereign cyber security services backed by local expertise.”

Vanda Martins nabs Huntress marketing role

Huntress has hired Vanda Martins as its new director, regional marketing – APAC.

She was previously the head of marketing APAC at Alation. She has also held senior roles at Sisense, Diligent, and SAI Global.

In a LinkedIn post, she said, “In just a short time I’ve been blown away by how this team care deeply about protecting small and mid-sized businesses that don’t always have big cybersecurity teams.

“A huge thanks to the Global Marketing and APAC GTM teams for making me feel like a part of something truly special.”

Scott Allen steps into Queensland director role at Fuse Technology

MSP Fuse Technology has selected Scott Allen as its new director of Queensland.

The appointment comes as Fuse Technology continues to invest in its national capabilities.

In this new role, Allen will lead Fuse Technology's Queensland operations, focusing on business growth, client success, and supporting organisations to maximise value from their technology investments.

In a media statement, Allen said, “I'm excited to help grow the Queensland business, support our clients' technology strategies, and work with a talented team that is passionate about making a real difference."

BAI Communications creates new chief information and transformation officer role

Communications infrastructure provider BAI Communications has hired Dr Angela Coble as its first chief information and transformation officer.

She joins from the Australian Energy Market Operator and previously held leadership roles at Accenture, including managing director, strategy and consulting and CTO.

In a media statement, she said, “I'm looking forward to getting to know the team, understanding where the technology and transformation opportunities lie, and working with Peter [Lambourne] and the leadership group as BAI continues to expand its private wireless and next-generation connectivity capability.”

Coble will report to CEO, Peter Lambourne. She starts from September 14.

Cohesity appoints new VP, APJ

Data management platform Cohesity has appointed Peter Hanna as its new VP of sales and GM for APJ.

He will be responsible for driving Cohesity's overall sales strategy, technical sales execution, channel operations, and growth initiatives across APJ.

For the past three years, he was leading the company’s partner and alliance sales organisation in APJ.

Prior to joining Cohesity, he held regional leadership positions at VMware and Dell EMC, where he was recognised for building relationships with customers and partners across the region.

He began the role on August 1.

Scyne hires CISO and MD

Professional services practice Scyne has hired a new CISO and managing director.

Dr Michelle Perugini has been appointed as the new managing director where she will work nationally across government and industry clients, supporting organisations to unlock value through AI, innovation and digital transformation while maintaining strong governance and risk management practices.

Dr Perugini joins Scyne from Adelaide University, where she has served as Director of Research Translation and Commercialisation and CEO of AU Ventures

The second hire, Anafrid Bennet, will be stepping into the CISO role at Scyne where she will be responsible for strengthening Scyne's security posture.

According to the company, “her mandate includes securing Scyne's rapidly expanding artificial intelligence capabilities. By embedding robust security and privacy defences into our AI processes.”
