Exclusive: SureCity Networks new AI-backed cybersecurity platform aims to reduce operational burden

MSSP SureCity Networks has unveiled its new Axis platform designed to help Aussie organisations overcome cybersecurity complexity.

The AI-powered cybersecurity platform brings four core capabilities, Axis Monitor, Axis SecOps, Axis AI, and Axis Offensive.

Speaking to CRN Australia exclusively, Tim Kirk, CEO at SureCity Networks said the aim of the new platform is to reduce the operational burden on security teams while improving visibility, lowering costs and significantly reducing risk.

“In an era where AI is accelerating the discovery and exploitation of new threats, continuous monitoring and validation is becoming critical,” he explained.

Kirk explained that Axis Monitor evolved from the internal tools and processes they built to protect their managed services customers.

“Many of these started as individual scripts and manual checks, but as we grew, we needed a way to scale that capability without compromising on quality,” he said.

“AXIS Monitor brings those practices together into a single platform.

“It continuously assesses configurations across multiple vendors, monitors cloud and infrastructure environments, and identifies important changes across firewalls, networks, and other critical systems.”

According to Kirk, Axis Monitor uses AI to accelerate the onboarding of new assets and technologies.

“AI connects to understand and validate field schemas but never accesses or processes the customer’s configuration data. Local functions are then used to perform the required monitoring and security assessments,” he said.

“This approach uses AI to do the heavy lifting of understanding new technologies, while the assessments themselves remain deterministic. The result is consistent, repeatable security checks without exposing sensitive customer data to an AI model.”

Kirk explains how Axis Monitor addresses two major challenges facing security teams today.

“The first is automatically identifying newly disclosed vulnerabilities and bugs, then rapidly determining whether they actually impact the organisations environment, particularly its internet facing assets,” he said.

“This closes a significant industry gap between knowing a vulnerability exists and knowing whether you are genuinely exposed.”

Secondly, it provides a real-time view of a security performance across the entire tech stack.

“Axis continuously measures and scores security posture, allowing organisations to track improvement, identify areas of increasing risk and clearly demonstrate how their security is trending over time,” he said.

Kirk said his customers are facing “many challenges” including the escalating numbers of vulnerabilities being identified requiring faster review and patching cycles and well as increased compliance requirements, especially from their own customers.

“Another challenge is that many vendors of security products have minimum headcount/seat-based licencing precluding many small to medium sized businesses, as well as being quite expensive,” he noted.

“Axis integrates and scales with any organisation and reduces compliance overhead with real time security configuration assessments in single pane of glass view.”

With this new platform, Kirk explains what he wants to achieve this time next year.

“We want Axis Monitor to help customers spend less time chasing vulnerability alerts and more time addressing the risks that genuinely matter,” he ended.
