Westcon Comstor signs multi-region deal with AI governance platform Sonar
Agreement for partners across EMEA and APAC.
Distributor Westcon Comstor has signed a multi-region deal with AI code verification and governance platform Sonar.
The deal allows for the Sonar platform to be available across the EMEA and APAC regions, giving partners access to Sonar’s core platform SonarQube.
Speaking to CRN Australia, Phil Cameron, managing director at Westcon Comstor Australia said they are seeing a demand from customers for solutions that enable them to adopt AI safely and at scale.
“AI-assisted software development is slowly becoming mainstream, but organisations are also recognising the need for greater security, governance, and visibility into the code being generated,” he said.
“Sonar compliments this need and our portfolio as its speciality is in AI code verification and governance.
“By bringing SonarQube to our channel ecosystem, we're giving partners access to technology that helps customers accelerate innovation while maintaining trust, quality, and security in their development processes.”
This partnership expands Westcom Comstor’s ability to support partners in the DevSecOps and AI software development space, Cameron noted.
“It enables partners to help customers identify vulnerabilities, exposed secrets and code issues earlier in the development lifecycle, while also introducing stronger governance around AI-generated code,” he said.
“Ultimately, it allows us to offer partners a more comprehensive approach to securing modern software development environments alongside our strong cybersecurity portfolio.”
Cameron noted that partners could be under pressure to help customers innovate faster while maintaining strong security and compliance standards.
“Through this agreement, they gain access to a platform that strengthens their DevSecOps and AI-enabled development offerings,” he said.
“Combined with Westcon-Comstor's enablement, technical support and go-to-market resources, this creates a pathway for partners to build recurring revenue streams and deepen customer relationships in a high-growth market.”
Cameron said this deal is a "significant opportunity” for partners to expand their value beyond traditional IT procurement and become strategic advisors on secure AI adoption.
“By combining the capabilities of Sonar with the enablement, technical expertise and support available through Westcon Comstor, partners can help customers embrace AI-driven development with greater confidence, stronger governance and reduced risk,” he ended.
