Channel Guru’s Tech Partner Operating System (TPOS) has unveiled Performance Compass, a new feature that brings deeper insights and intelligence for partners.

This platform gives partners a deeper insight into their business, rather than just displaying revenue metrics, Performance Compass highlights financial and operational insights in a future-focused format.

Speaking to CRN Australia, Brad Clarke, founder at Channel Guru said, “Performance Compass gives tech partners a consistent way to understand not just their current performance from a financial perspective, but their trajectory and how their economics, growth, scalability, and their revenue model helps to achieve that evolving business that they're aiming towards growing.

“It's very unique in market. We don't think something like that exists today.”

TPOS was launched late last year, which is a product-based platform that helps technology partners build “operational maturity”.

Speaking to customers, Clarke said one of the gaps that existed for them was an inconsistent way of measuring metrics.

"There was a lack of that consistent framework approach that is accessible to everybody,” he said.

"It was that lack of visibility and consistency in the channel that drove us to go build this.”

Performance Compass gives partners metrics across their business in 11 areas which include, financial strength, momentum, scale, efficiency, future fit and revenue.

For Clarke, he sees a gap in the market where technology partners haven’t been trained which specific financial metrics to look at.

“What are the things that we should be measuring? Everywhere we go across the channel, we see people are wanting this level of knowledge, but there's no consistent framework of which to align to, and not one that's also accessible and modern to all,” he said.

Clarke said Performance Compass gives them a “level of intelligence” to guide partners on their next steps within the organisation.

"That's the real richness. We can see from strategy to org design to business operating maturity and financial success. We can bring all those things together to be able to better define the things you need to do, or the changes you need to be able to make to be successful,” he said.

“That becomes super compelling to help the industry collectively lift under a consistent, accessible framework.”

Platform for the AI era

As partners enter the new AI era, new tools are needed for deeper insights. Clarke believes that where the vantage for partners is going to come in this era is from how well partners use data.

“What insights they have, how they're using automation and capability to make better decisions and ultimately deliver better customer outcomes,” he said.

Currently, Clarke said they spend a lot of time working with partners to help them understand where to get the optimal insights.

“At the moment, most people look at revenue, and that's just an output. The more interesting question we've been asking ourselves and our customers is, what's happening inside the business? What's happening inside the business that produces that revenue?

“And what the partners need to understand in terms of the modern future ready tech partner looks like. Whether it's operationally which what we do today at TPOS, but more importantly now commercially and financially.”

He continued, “All those pieces need to come together to understand where they are today, what that model needs to look like in five to 10 years, and what's that bridge? What's the intelligence to get them there? That's effectively in part of what we're announcing today that Performance Compass does.”

Performance Compass is now available for all TPOS customers.
